New Spring 2010 Bocce Tournament!

 

Run by Chair Brother Joe Amato and Co-Chair Brother Carmelo Ciccone

 

Games begin on May 3rd, Monday night.  Start time at 7:15 pm.  Remaining game times will be determined when all players sign up.

 

Teams will be play 4 games on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday nights.

 

Entry Fee is $15 per person.  Cash prizes for 1st and 2nd place teams.  55% to 1st place team.  35% to 2nd place team.  10% contribution to the Lodge.

Bocce Rules – Spring ‘2010’ Tournament

(Chairpersons are Joe Amato and Carmelo Ciccone)

 

  ·        Entry fee is $15 per person.  All players must be paid in full prior to playing the 1st game.

 ·        Cash Prizes will be given for the 1st and 2nd place teams.   55% to the 1st place team.  35% to 2nd place team.  10% contribution to the Lodge.

  ·        Each team will play 4 games on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday nights.   Games begin on Monday, May 3rd.

 

1.    Games are to begin at 7:15 pm.  15 minutes grace period is allowed only for the early game. Thus game will start on time at 7:30 pm sharp.  Time will be held by Chairperson’s watch.

 

2.  a)  Each team shall have 4 players. 

 

       b)  If a team has 3 players to start the game, the team will be penalized by 1 point.  Each player must rotate to make-up for the 4th player.  If the 4th player arrives late, player can join the team while the game is in progress.

      c)  If a team cannot field 3 players, the game will be forfeited and team will take a loss.

d)  Omitted.

e)  Spouses are permitted to play on the same team.  A member’s spouse who is a non-member will be permitted to play the games.

f)  Chairpersons will be permitted to play the games.

 

3.   Non-members will be permitted to play only if they are on the waiting list.  The waiting list will be used for substitute players and for players with emergency situations that cannot make a game.  The original player who misses a game will be permitted to play the remaining games.

4.   Total of 15 points wins the game.

 

    5.  Total points will be used for tie breakers only.

 

6.   Wins and losses determine the standings of each team.  Winning records are higher than total points.

 

    7.   Coin toss to start the game.  The Captains choose heads or tails.  The Captain who wins, throws the pallino.  The Captain who loses picks color of the balls.

 

8.   a)  When the pallino is thrown it must pass half court.  A 2nd throw is   

              permitted.  A 3rd throw will not be permitted and the team will lose a

              turn.

b)  When the pallino is thrown it cannot touch any side boards.

c)  When the pallino is thrown out of the court the team loses their turn.

 

9.    If a player throws the colored ball and hits end of court board without touching the other colored balls or the pallino it is a dead ball and pulled out of court.  If a player throws the colored ball and jumps the court it is a dead ball and left out of court.

10. The Captain is the only one permitted to question a call by the Referee.  If there is a debate, it is settled between the Referee and Chairperson only. The Referee is to be totally respected on all his calls.

 

11.  When a player has their turn, the player cannot give their turn to someone else.  If the player does, the team will be penalized by 1 point.

13. If a player throws the wrong colored ball, the ball is to be replaced with the correct colored ball.  The throw is still a valid throw.
